Zhongke (Guangdong) Refining & Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Zhongke Refining) was established in February 2012 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). Its supporting integrated refining and chemical project ranks as one of Sinopec’s largest-scale integrated refining and chemical facilities, serving as a core pillar of Sinopec’s Maoming-Zhanjiang petrochemical base layout.
The Zhongke Refining integrated project features a total production capacity of 10 million tons per year of crude oil refining and 800,000 tons per year of ethylene. Adopting advanced and efficient industrial processes, the refinery section applies a core technical route consisting of atmospheric and vacuum distillation, hydrocracking, full residual oil hydrogenation, and catalytic cracking, realizing full and efficient utilization of crude oil resources.
For chemical production, the project adopts a refined and differentiated product strategy. Its ethylene derivative layout covers HDPE, EO/EG and ethanolamine products, while all propylene derivatives are positioned for polypropylene (PP) production, forming a highly targeted and market-competitive chemical product system.
Zhongke Refining delivers a complete range of high-quality energy and chemical products. Its main oil products include China National VI standard gasoline, diesel and aviation kerosene, meeting domestic high-standard clean energy supply demands. The core chemical product lineup covers high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), ethylene oxide (EO), ethylene glycol (EG) and ethanolamine, widely applied in energy supply, chemical manufacturing, new materials and downstream industrial fields.
The Zhongke Refining project marks a pivotal starting point for Sinopec’s construction of the Maoming-Zhanjiang national-level petrochemical base. It undertakes the important strategic mission of building a world-class, technologically advanced and internationally competitive refining and chemical base representing China’s petrochemical industry level.
