From March 11 to 13, the 2026 China International Textile Yarn Exhibition (Spring & Summer) kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Led by SINOPEC Chemical Sales Corporation, SINOPEC Chemical Business Division gathered four core wholly-owned subsidiaries — Shanghai Petrochemical, Yizheng Chemical Fiber, Anqing Petrochemical and Qilu Petrochemical — to jointly attend the exhibition, showcasing segmented advantages of each subsidiary in synthetic fiber R&D and manufacturing.
The exhibition booth displayed more than 60 types of fiber products categorized into three major series: green lifestyle fibers, diversified functional fibers and thermal management fibers. SINOPEC’s cutting-edge fiber lineup drew extensive attention from professional visitors, expanding market promotion channels for the group’s new synthetic fiber products and demonstrating SINOPEC’s strong technological innovation strength in the global fiber and yarn industry.
Hosted by multiple SINOPEC subsidiaries, the diversified functional exhibition area gathered star products respectively developed by four manufacturers. Among them, children’s clothing made of anti-mosquito staple fibers independently developed by Yizheng Chemical Fiber became a major spotlight. Most commercial anti-mosquito fabrics on the market rely on chemical auxiliary finishing, which may cause toxic residues, and lose efficacy after repeated washing.
Different from conventional products, Yizheng Chemical Fiber’s anti-mosquito staple fiber adopts an intrinsic modification method: food-grade functional mineral powder is directly blended into fiber raw materials during spinning. Relying on nano-scale microporous structures of mineral powder, the fiber locks human body odor to block mosquito perception, achieving Grade B anti-mosquito performance specified by Chinese national standards, with valid protection lasting over 4 hours.
Besides outstanding mosquito repellency, the fiber can rapidly absorb skin moisture and sweat, inhibiting the reproduction of bacteria, mites and molds from the source. Its antibacterial rate exceeds 90%, realizing four-in-one performance of mosquito resistance, mite resistance, mildew resistance and antibacterial protection. The material is odorless and non-allergenic to human skin.
Verified by two authoritative domestic testing institutions — Guangdong Inspection Group and Textile Standard Inspection, the product has obtained valid CMA (China Metrology Accreditation) and CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) certification with internationally recognized test reports.
Apart from Yizheng Chemical Fiber’s flagship anti-mosquito fiber, the functional exhibition area displayed specialized products rolled out by all four subsidiaries: bionic cashmere fiber from Qilu Petrochemical, flame-retardant textile materials from Anqing Petrochemical, and waterproof functional yarn from Yizheng Chemical Fiber, alongside color-changing footwear materials. These exhibits presented the cross-industry application of SINOPEC subsidiaries’ fiber products in professional protection, filling materials and smart fashion sectors.
Qilu Petrochemical unveiled its self-developed 1.2D*38mm anti-pilling cashmere-like fine-denier staple fiber, currently the only dry-spun fine-denier acrylic fiber manufactured via German Dralon technology in China. Featuring cashmere-like soft handfeel, it overcomes defects of pure cotton fabrics such as poor wash resistance and easy deformation, and is widely applied to mid-to-high-end thermal underwear.
As a key functional fiber product of Anqing Petrochemical, its self-developed flame-retardant acrylic fiber can self-extinguish rapidly once exposed to fire and block flame spreading. It produces no molten drips during combustion to avoid secondary thermal injury. The product is applicable to professional protective garments, home textiles, thermal wadding, high-speed rail interior materials, heat-insulating felts and aviation blankets.
Independently researched and produced by Yizheng Chemical Fiber, GN526 water-repellent staple fiber adjusts surface molecular arrangement during fiber forming to reduce surface free energy, delivering durable intrinsic water repellency. It fundamentally solves the problem of coating peeling of traditional waterproof fabrics and greatly improves service durability.
Vibrant fibers, tops, yarns and finished garments displayed in the green lifestyle zone visualized the whole industrial chain from raw filament to final apparel.
Developed and manufactured by Shanghai Petrochemical, dope-dyed acrylic fiber stood out as SINOPEC’s flagship green product. With superior color fastness and eco-friendly properties, it integrates color paste into the spinning procedure and cancels post-dyeing processes. The technology drastically cuts water consumption and carbon emissions, realizing green and low-carbon textile production.
Meanwhile, Yizheng Chemical Fiber showcased its self-developed physical & chemical recycled fibers and bio-based fibers, presenting SINOPEC’s full-chain low-carbon solutions jointly built by multiple subsidiaries, covering raw material exploitation to terminal textile manufacturing.
The thermal management exhibition area focused on wearable comfort technological innovations. The core highlight fell on the 0.89dtex lustrous crimpable acrylic staple fiber independently developed by Anqing Petrochemical. Produced via customized spinning processes, the fiber forms natural crimps and fluffy structures after heat treatment, delivering cashmere-style lightweight touch and excellent thermal retention. It is the core material of high-comfort men’s and women’s thermal underwear.
Besides thermal retention materials, Yizheng Chemical Fiber also displayed its self-developed Yishuang cooling fiber and UV-resistant cooling fiber, showcasing the subsidiary’s cutting-edge R&D achievements in thermal-moisture comfort textile materials.
Moving forward, SINOPEC will continuously drive the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry through technological innovation, and boost the high-quality development of textile materials toward greener, more functional and high-end directions.
