The predecessor of Inner Mongolia Petroleum Branch was Sinopec Sales Inner Mongolia Xinxing Branch, established in February 2001.

- February 2001: Established as Sinopec Sales Inner Mongolia Xinxing Branch.
- October 2002: Renamed Sinopec Sales Co., Ltd. Northwest Inner Mongolia Branch.
