Recently, SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s ethylene plant's feedstock diversification strategy has yielded another fruitful result: the dual-channel ethane delivery project, combining domestic road transport and imported pipeline transport, has been fully operational. This marks SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. as the first company in the system to achieve dual-channel ethane delivery for cracking via both road and pipeline, representing a new breakthrough in the group company's ethylene plant ethane feedstock processing.
As an important measure to reduce losses and increase efficiency, SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is fully promoting the ethane resource delivery project in 2025. The feasibility study report for the road transport ethane unloading project was completed on April 24th, and the project was approved on June 27th, progressing rapidly. The project was handed over on October 20th, completing the renovation of a 2000 cubic meter storage tank and the construction of three ethane unloading loading arms. Following the project acceptance approval, SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. successfully delivered its first batch of ethane by road to the plant on November 24th, and completed the ethane feeding process on November 29th. Simultaneously, in conjunction with the progress of the ethane import and transfer facilities at Nangang Port, SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. rapidly implemented the construction of supporting facilities for pipeline ethane delivery within the plant's boundaries, successfully completing the pipeline ethane delivery and cracking process on December 24th.
Since the project's commissioning, the ethylene unit has continuously optimized its process operations to ensure safe and controlled production under the new feedstock system. As of February 2026, a total of 34,000 tons of ethane had been delivered by road and pipeline, resulting in a cumulative efficiency improvement of RMB 26.43 million. From January to February 2026, the ethylene yield and diene yield reached 35.46% and 50.8% respectively, representing increases of 3.61% and 3.75% compared to 2025, indicating a significant improvement in unit operating efficiency. The successful implementation of this project is a significant achievement for SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. in accurately grasping market trends and promoting transformation and upgrading. It not only optimized the raw material structure and reduced production costs, but also significantly improved the operating efficiency of the plant and the market competitiveness of SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s products, injecting new and strong momentum into SINOPEC SABIC Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s high-quality development in a complex market environment.
