On the morning of October 31, 2024, more than 70 Party members and cadres from the Production Support Center of Sinopec Geophysical Company visited Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. They toured Yizheng’s "Brighten a Better Life" Red Education Base and experienced the eco-friendly convenience brought by green fibers to daily life.
The delegation first visited the company’s Comprehensive Exhibition Hall of Construction & Development. With guided explanations of historical photos, videos and archives, they gained a full picture of Yizheng Chemical Fiber’s development journey, covering its initial construction, phased upgrades and industrial transformations across different eras. They also learned about the company’s historic contributions to easing conflicts between grain and cotton land use, meeting domestic clothing demands, and advancing China’s national polyester industry.
During the tour of eight core business segments, the visitors learned that petroleum-derived materials are widely used in daily consumer goods. They spoke highly of Yizheng Chemical Fiber’s full resource utilization that maximizes the value of every barrel of crude oil.
At the finished product exhibition area, the group showed great interest in three major product lines: home textiles, Lilun protective materials and Yilun apparel fabrics. After hands-on experience, they were fascinated by high-tech eco-friendly products including flame-retardant workwear, color-changing footwear, cut-resistant gloves and biodegradable materials, and expressed willingness to purchase Bestar series premium products in bulk.
At the melt-blown unit of the No.3 Synthetic Fiber Workshop, the guide recounted the arduous yet rewarding story of rapidly building melt-blown fabric production lines amid cross-industry support during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group deeply appreciated how Yizheng staff fulfilled Sinopec’s commitment to ensuring affordable, accessible masks for the public amid national emergency demand. They examined new product samples made from melt-blown materials and praised the company’s strong sense of social responsibility.
At the No.6 staple fiber unit of the No.1 Synthetic Fiber Workshop, the guide introduced the properties, production processes and application scenarios of various fibers, and led the group to inspect the post-spinning production line. The visitors witnessed the whole process that turns crude oil into fiber, a remarkable transformation known as "turning petroleum into cotton".
The short but informative visit left a deep impression on the team from Sinopec Geophysical Production Support Center. They stated that the exchange deepened their understanding of this peer Sinopec subsidiary. They pledged to uphold the rigorous, meticulous and pragmatic work ethos and contribute more to the high-quality development of the petroleum and petrochemical industry.
