On June 3, 2026, BYD and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. Centered on building a smart energy ecosystem themed "Gathering Energy at Ten Thousand Stations, Fast Charging at Fuel Outlets", the two sides will carry out in-depth multi-dimensional cooperation covering charging infrastructure and vehicle owner ecosystem across the entire industrial chain. They will jointly construct a new ecosystem featuring ultra-fast charging at gas stations and drive the transformation and upgrading of the energy and transportation industries. Senior executives from both enterprises led their respective teams to attend the signing ceremony.
This cooperation represents an expansion and upgrade based on existing collaboration including refined oil product supply guarantee and the construction of integrated energy stations, with cooperation focused on three core segments.
The electrification and intelligent transformation of the automotive industry are accelerating globally, while slow charging speed and poor low-temperature charging performance remain prominent bottlenecks restricting the development of new energy vehicles. BYD is pressing ahead with the nationwide rollout of its ultra-fast charging network. More than 6,100 ultra-fast charging stations have already been put into operation, with an annual target of building a total of 20,000 such stations.
Sinopec owns over 30,000 integrated energy stations and 14,000 charging and battery swapping stations nationwide, boasting massive offline outlet resources that form strong complementary advantages with BYD. The powerful alliance will significantly accelerate the full-scale nationwide deployment of the ultra-fast charging network.
Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, stated that relying on the full-industry-chain technologies covering photovoltaics, energy storage and complete vehicles, BYD is reshaping the energy replenishment model through its ultra-fast charging strategy. The company will work with Sinopec to improve ultra-fast charging infrastructure and build a comprehensive vehicle owner ecosystem.
Hou Qijun, relevant executive of Sinopec, commented that Sinopec is pushing forward its green and intelligent transformation layout. Leveraging its advantages in raw materials and station network resources, the enterprise will cooperate with BYD to upgrade integrated energy services.
