After decades of industrial expansion, it has grown into China’s largest processing base for high-sulfur & high-acid crude oil, one of the nation’s leading synthetic rubber manufacturers, China’s sole dry-process acrylic fiber producer, and Sinopec’s exclusive chlor-alkali production enterprise. The company owns fixed assets of RMB 50.9 billion and operates 143 complete production units. Its annual operating revenue approaches RMB 80 billion with annual pre-tax profit exceeding RMB 12 billion. In terms of production capacity, its comprehensive crude refining capacity hits 12.5 million tons per year, ethylene output stands at 800,000 tons annually, finished gasoline & diesel reaches 5.2 million tons per year, and commercial chemical products total 3.9 million tons per year. Up to 120 grades of diversified petrochemical products are available for global supply.
Qilu Petrochemical prioritizes sustainable green and low-carbon transformation as its core development strategy. It has commissioned China’s first million-ton-level CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage) facility, forming a landmark full-industry-chain demonstration base for domestic carbon reduction. Besides the iconic CCUS project, photovoltaic power generation and hydrogen production for fuel cell applications have been smoothly put into operation, winning the enterprise the honor of “Green Enterprise of Sinopec Group”.
Fulfilling regional environmental commitments, Qilu provides centralized wastewater treatment services for over 100 local surrounding enterprises, effectively protecting the ecological security of the Yellow River Basin.
Sticking to independent innovation for core technology breakthroughs, Qilu has built R&D platforms including Qilu Branch of Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, plus pilot test bases for plastic, rubber and PVC alongside a corporate technical center.
Its self-developed LS-DeGAS complete technology drastically cuts SO₂ emission from sulfur recovery units, keeping sulfur recovery efficiency at globally leading standards. Up to now, the firm has earned 434 scientific progress & invention awards at national, provincial and group levels, filed 1,915 domestic & overseas patents and obtained authorization for 1,355 patents, certified as one of China’s Top 100 Enterprises in Scientific & Technological Progress.
