Jinling Petrochemical’s Refinery Department 3 Achieves Robust Growth in High-End Carbon Material Production

Since the start of this year, Refinery Department 3 of Jinling Petrochemical has accurately captured market dynamics for high-end carbon materials. Leveraging its daily optimization and daily calculation system, the department has implemented full-process operational improvements and adopted differentiated production strategies tailored to unit advantages.

The initiative has driven robust production and strong market sales across a portfolio of high-value products, including energy storage coke, prebaked anode coke, needle electrode coke, and high-end negative electrode coke. In January alone, the output of various high-end carbon materials surged by over 80% year-on-year, marking a strong start to the year’s production and operational performance.

Placing product quality at the core of market expansion, the department has established a special joint research team for high-end carbon materials. Through regular dedicated meetings, the team focuses on three key priorities: quality upgrading, integrated production, sales and research, and refined operational adjustment.

Benchmarking top-tier industry standards, the team systematically analyzes unit operating data and has formulated more than ten key optimization measures. It further refines the modeling of the “raw material-structure-performance” correlation framework and flexibly adjusts production schedules and product mixes to sustain steady technological progress. Thanks to targeted improvements, the quality of core products such as prebaked anode coke has gained wide industry recognition, greatly enhancing the department’s market competitiveness.

The department maintains close communication with downstream clients to optimize production schemes and operational parameters based on customer feedback. It focuses on improving critical technical indicators including Hardgrove grindability index, specific capacity, and caking index to meet customized production requirements. Optimal production parameters have been standardized and finalized based on repeated testing, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality raw materials for manufacturing large-scale ultra-high power graphite electrodes and joint coke products.

To guarantee consistent and reliable production, Refinery Department 3 has strengthened process stability and equipment integrity management. It closely monitors the operating status of high-end graphite units after maintenance and tracks the impact of technical renovations on the reaction system.

Strict management is implemented for pipeline blind plates, alarm interlocks, and engineering changes. The department enforces standardized verification of key operational steps, on-site patrol inspections, and real-time control room monitoring. Professional cross-department coordination and efficient emergency response mechanisms minimize operational fluctuations, securing continuous, stable, and high-quality production of premium carbon materials.
