Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) has received international recognition for its outstanding operational and production performance. The company was honored with two prestigious 2025 ExxonMobil Global Excellence Awards, namely the Global Excellence Award – Safety Production Standardization Rating Improvement and the Global Excellence Award – Remarkable Progress in Profit Margin Enhancement and Cost Reduction.
The awards were presented by Ambrey, Director of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific & Middle East Region, and Bovey Ming, Production Director of ExxonMobil Europe Region, to recognize FREP’s remarkable achievements in standardized safety production, quality improvement and efficiency enhancement over the past year. Lin Xu, President of FREP, and Chen Lijun, Vice President of FREP, attended the award ceremony.
During the ceremony, Ambrey delivered an uplifting speech, affirming FREP’s outstanding global performance. “It is my great honor to present the 2025 ExxonMobil Global Excellence Awards to the FREP team today, recognizing your extraordinary contributions over the past year,” he said.
As ExxonMobil’s highest-level global honor, the Global Excellence Awards are open to all business units worldwide across the globe. FREP’s double awards triumph signifies that its capabilities in safety management and profit optimization have outperformed all peer ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide, establishing the company as a global benchmark for the petrochemical industry in 2025.
“This remarkable achievement belongs to every member of the FREP team and fully demonstrates the company’s persistent pursuit of operational excellence,” Ambrey added. Dual Breakthroughs: Leading Safety Performance & Impressive Profit Growth Supported by the ExxonMobil Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS), FREP has comprehensively strengthened the management of on-site direct operation links and carried out systematic SWC (Safe Work Condition) verification and improvement initiatives.
Thanks to rigorous risk early identification, classified hierarchical hazard management and full-process safety control, the company achieved an exceptionalTotal Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.04%. Its safety production standardization level has achieved a qualitative leap, upgrading from “compliance qualification” to “performance excellence”.
Notably, FREP was officially certified as a Secondary Safety Production Standardization Enterprise in 2025. This authoritative certification fully validates the company’s mature systematic management capabilities, proactive risk prevention mechanisms and sustainable performance improvement in petrochemical production.
In terms of operational efficiency and profitability, FREP launched a series of effective initiatives for profit margin enhancement and cost reduction in 2025. The company optimized its operational structure by expanding spot crude oil processing capacity, introducing new types of crude oil resources, and broadening diesel product sales channels.
In addition, FREP actively deployed green and high-value product layouts, including the production of waste plastic recycled polyolefin products and the independent development of new polyolefin grades. These innovative and optimized measures have brought more than 800 million yuan in cumulative economic benefits, greatly improving the company’s overall profitability and market competitiveness.
The two global top honors mark FREP’s leading position in global petrochemical safety management and lean operation. Adhering to the philosophy of safety priority and excellence-driven development, Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited (FREP) will continue to deepen operational optimization, promote green and high-quality development, and maintain its benchmark strength in the global petrochemical industry.
