At 6:20 p.m. on April 17, the vessel Yuanyang 9613 operated by Chongqing Changqing Logistics slowly departed from the Sinopec Anqing Petrochemical terminal. The departure marked the official outbound delivery of Anqing Petrochemical’s maiden 4,150-ton bonded jet fuel shipment, laying a solid foundation for the company’s output expansion and profit growth of jet fuel products.
During the on-site loading operation, staff from the China National Aviation Fuel (CNAF) on-site office conducted preliminary quality inspections on the jet fuel before shipment. Terminal operators of Anqing Petrochemical coordinated closely with crew members of Changqing Logistics. Special oil transmission pipelines were precisely connected, and qualified jet fuel was steadily pumped into the cargo hold of the vessel.
Driven by growing market substitution from new energy vehicles and LNG, domestic consumption of gasoline and diesel has continued to decline year by year. Accordingly, jet fuel sales have become an increasingly critical profit source for domestic refineries. Currently, Anqing Petrochemical boasts an annual jet fuel output capacity of 800,000 tons, and all delivery channels for domestic jet fuel have reached full saturation in 2025.
Following scheduled unit overhaul and upgrading in September and October 2025, the company’s jet fuel production capacity will expand to 1 million tons per year. To absorb the increased output, Anqing Petrochemical urgently needed to launch new outbound delivery channels for jet fuel. The launch of bonded jet fuel business will create a new profit growth point for the company’s refined oil product sales.
Bonded jet fuel refers to duty-free aviation kerosene processed from imported crude oil under customs supervision for re-export. It is exclusively supplied to aircraft operating international routes. The product helps cut operating costs for international airlines, maximize the crude oil processing capacity of refineries, extend the refined oil industrial chain, and fuel the development of local export-oriented economy.
Bonded jet fuel operation covers the full industrial chain including crude oil procurement, waterway transportation, refining processing, terminal warehousing and maritime logistics. With joint support from local customs, internal Sinopec functional departments and CNAF subsidiaries, Anqing Petrochemical completed all preparatory procedures within merely five months. The full workflow included production capacity qualification application, customs filing, supply-demand schedule coordination, commercial contract signing and formal cargo shipment.
